Early Life
Rita Edochie was born on April 16, 1968, to parents Mr and Mrs Okwuduli. She has two siblings, a brother, Augustine Okwudili, and a sister, Nnoyelum Okwudili Odogwu, who passed away in 2015.
She is from the Igbo tribe and precisely from Anambra State, the South-east part of Nigeria.
She had both her primary and secondary education in Anambra State before proceeding to the higher institution.

Rita Edochie began her acting career in the 1990s.
She has starred in more than 50 Nollywood movies which include Shining Light, Only Yesterday, August Meeting, Breaking Rules, My Lost Love, Blood Line, In My Kingdom, Regret to Love, Pain and Glory, Night of Memories, Forbiden Throne, Stretched Heart, My sister’s Act and many others.

Rita Edochie got married to Tony Edochie in December 1990. Their union is blessed with four children. One of her children, Valentine Edochie, is a Nollywood actor and movie director.
Her husband, Tony Edochie, is the younger brother of Pete Edochie. She is the aunt of both Yul Edochie and Muna Obiekwe.
She also revealed that she she was sexually assaulted in primary school and gave birth to a child.
