Patoranking whose real name is Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, is a one of the top Nigerian reggae and dance-hall singer. He came to prominence for his hit song “Alubarika”. Early Life
Patoranking was born on May 27, 1990 in Ijegun-Egba, Alimosho, Lagos State, Nigeria.
He grew up in Lagos but originally hails from Onicha, Ebonyi State.
He went to Citizen Comprehensive College in Epe, Lagos and proceeded to Jibril Martin Memorial Grammar School in Iponri.
Career
Patoranking began his career as a street artist while performing in carnivals and other events.
He developed his passion for music with influences from the likes of Bob Marley, Fela Kuti, Lucky Dube, Majek Fashek, Tuface and so on.
He started up with underground collaborations with music artists like Konga and X-projects and later secured a record deal with K-Solo’s Igberaga records in 2010.
He depicted his music as an ethically slanted variety of reggae, dancehall and afro-beat which also sees him referencing socio-political issues.
Patoranking delivered a song named “Iya Bisi”, highlighting Qdot and Kbaj, in May 2012. The song is a drumphase melody with an infusion of dancehall and fuji.
Patoranking delivered the sound and video for “Alubarika” on September 12, 2013. The tune in a real sense means “God’s Blessings” while also highlighting vocals from Timaya and the music video was shot by the talented cinematographer AJE Films.
He signed a record deal with Foston Musik and finished his affiliations with Dem Mama Records, in February 2014.
He came through with his first song under the Foston Musik imprint titled “Girlie O” and it was followed up with a music video which was shot in London by Moe Musa.
He also delivered the remix to “Girlie O” with an assisted vocals from Tiwa Savage.
Patoranking was included on the star studded collaboration with Seyi Shay on the single “Murda” alongside Shaydee. The tune which was released on April 1, 2014, was delivered by Dokta Frabz and followed up with a music video which was shot by Meji Alabi for JM Films.
He released his album “God Over Everything” in 2016 which boast of hit singles like; This Kind Love featuring Wizkid, Killing Me and No Kissing Me Baby featuring Sarkodie.
He released another album titled “Wilmer” in 2019. It comprises of twelve tracks with features from Davido, Busiswa, Donae’o and Dadju.
He released the album “Three” in 2020 with more than enough exciting songs to select from. The album also features the likes of Sauti Sol and King Promise.
Patoranking has continued to dish out more exciting single and was again innthe limelight for his hit singles “Daniella Whine” and “My Woman, My Everything” which also top charts on MTV Base Official Naija Top 10.

Patoranking is a whole lot of vibes when it comes to dropping hit singles back to back. He released the single “I’m in Love” and became one of the highly rated Nigerian artist. He released the song “Celebrate Me” in 2021.
