Born Lewis Carl Dunk on November 21, 1991 in Brighton, England. His father Mark Dunk is a former Sussex non-league player. He has a brother named Carl who is also a footballer. Dunk attended Varndean school.
Career
Lewis Dunk began his career at the youth level with Wimbledon and joined the youth academy of Brighton and Hove Albion in 2003. He made his first team debut for the club in 2010.
He helped Brighton secured promotion to the Premier League and was named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.
He became Brighton’s captain for the 2019-20 season and led the club to an European qualification in the 2022-23 season, having sealed a place in the 2023-24 UEFA Europa League.
He signed a new contract with Brigton on July 12, 2023, and it’s expected to run till 2026. He made his European debut in a 2-2 draw with Marseille on October 5, 2023.
At the international scene, he represented England at the Under-21 level and was called up to the national team for matches against Croatia and Spain in the Nations League.
