Born Dominic Ayodele Solanke-Mitchell on September 14, 1997 in Reading, United Kingdom to a Nigerian father and English mother. He is of mixed ethnicity and of Christian religion. He also spent his early years with his brothers and sister. He went to Brighton Hill Community College in Basingstoke.
Career
Solanke began his career at the youth level with Chelsea in 2004. He made his senior debut for Chelsea in October 2014 and went on loan to Vitesse for the 2015-16 season.
He agreed to sign for Liverpool on May 30, 2017 and was officially confirmed as a Liverpool player on July 10, 2017. He made his debut for the club in a 3-1 victory against Hoffenheim, on August 16, 2017.
He joined AFC Bournemouth on a long-term deal for an undisclosed fee on January 4, 2019. He made his debut in a 2-0 away loss against Cardiff City in the league on February 2. He scored his first goal in a 4-1 victory against Leicester City, on July 12, 2020.
At the international scene, Solanke represented England at the under-16, under-17, under-18, under-19, under-20, and under-21 levels. He was named the England Men’s Youth Player of the Year for 2014, in January 2015.
