Early Life

Juanita Bynum was born on January 16, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois, United States to parents, Katherine Bynum and Thomas Bynum Sr. She has four siblings: Kathy Bynum, Regina Bynum, Thomas Bynum, and Janice Bynum. The family were members of St. Luke Church of God in Christ, where her father was an elder.

She went to Saints Academy of the Church of God in Christ (COGIC) high school in Lexington, Mississippi

Career

Bynum began preaching at various churches and revivals. She later travelled to Port Huron, Michigan, to minister for pastor William T. Nichols and his wife, and ended up on a journey that changed her life.

She returned to Chicago in 1990 and became a hairdresser. She took another step and went to New York, where she became a flight attendant for Pan African Airways. She left the job in 1991 and joined a new church where she started to minister again.

She already has nine projects to her credit as a singer and also an RIAA Certified Platinum Selling Gospel Recording Artist.

She released her album Gospel Goes Classical in 2096, “Piece of My Passion” in 2007, and Morning Glory in 2010.

She has appeared on the cover of various magazines such as Spirit Led Women Magazine, Charisma Magazine, Essence Magazine, and Upscale magazine.

She also starred in movies and television shows such as “Mama, I Want to Sing” alongside Lynn Whitfield and Ciara.

She has written over 12 books, which include Spiritual Inheritance, Matters of the Heart, A Heart for Jesus Children’s Book, Threshing Floor, and so on.
