American singer and songwriter, Alina Baraz (born September 24, 1993) gained recognition for her collaborative EP “Urban Flora” alongside the electronic producer, Galimatias.

She came through with her first solo EP titled “The Color of You” in 2018, followed by her debut studio album “It Was Divine” in April 2020.
She has headlined numerous events such as; Urban Flora Tour, Let’s Get Lost Tour, Alone With You tour and so on.

Early Life

Alina Baraz was born in Cleveland, Ohio, Unites States to parents from Russia, on September 24, 1993.

She is the first child in her family and was raised in a music environment. She moved to Los Angeles at the age of 19 to pursue a career in music.

Career

Alina had interest in music at a very young age where she was among the gospel choir.

She developed her passion with music influences from the likes of Adele, Amy Winehouse and Corinne Bailey Rae. She wrote her first song, “Roses Dipped in Gold” and was released on April 15, 2013. Her single “Drift” was also released on Soundcloud in 2013.

Baraz met with the Danish producer Galimatias and they released the EP “Urban Flora” on May 19, 2015, through Ultra Music.

She later signed a record deal with the Independent label Mom + Pop Music where she released a vinyl edition of of extended project Urban Flora.

She made her solo live performances in 2016 by performing at North American festivals such as Electric forest festival and Saquatch! Music Festival, in the summer of 2016.

She released her first solo single “Electric” alongside the R&B singer Khalid, in January 2017 and followed up with the release of two singles “Lavender and Velvet” and “Buzzin” in September 2017.

She released her first solo EP “The Color of You” on April 6, 3018 and also came through with other exciting singles like “More Than Enough”, “Trust” and “Morocco” in the early months of 2020.

Baraz released her debut studio album :It Was Divine” on April 24, 2020 after being announced earlier in March of the same year. The album features guest appearances from the likes of 6lack, Khalid, Nas and Smino.

However, after her departure from previous record label Mom+Pop, Baraz released her first single “Alone With You” as an independent artist, in July 2021. She later released extended projects “Sunbeam” and “Moongate” on September 24 and October 29, respectively.
