Born Yan Bueno Couto on June 3, 2002 in Curitiba, Brazil.
Career
Yan Couto began his career at the youth level with Coritiba in 2012 and was promoted to the main squad for the 2020 season. He made his debut for the senior team on February 21 in a 2-0 home victory against Cianorte where he came on as a substitute.
He joined Manchester City on a five-year deal on March 1, 2020. He later joined Girona on a season long loan on September 25.
He also went on a one-year loan to the Portuguese club S.C Braga for the 2021-22 season and returned to Girona on loan till the end of 2023-24 season.
At the international scene, Couto represented Brazil at the under-17 level where he was included in the 23 -man list for the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup. He was called up to the senior team on Octoner 6, 2023.
