Early Life
Born Genoveva Kenechukwu Umeh on May 8, 1995 in Enugu State, Nigeria. Her father Gaius Umeh is a Computer Engineer and her mother Ifeoma Umeh is a Nurse.
She went to Command Children’s School, Enugu for her primary education and also follow up with her first year of secondary education at Command Children’s School, Enugu. She and her family moved to the United Kingdom in 2006 where she completed her secondary and A level education at St Mary’s C of E High School in London, United Kingdom. She also obtained a degree in LLB Law from the University of Surrey, England.
Career
Genoveva Umeh developed passion for acting in secondary school of which she pursued by completing a term at part time drama school, Identity School of Acting, UK in 2012.
Umeh further her acting career by
moving to Lagos, Nigeria in 2018 and began to perform in stage plays.
She got her first lead role in the 2020 film “A Tune away” which earned her nomination for Best Actress at the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award. She made her on-screen debut in 2019 with a role in the cinema film “Love is War”.
She also featured in short films like “Ijo”, “Monitoring Spirits”, “Focus”, and “Reflections”. She came through with a role in the crime thriller series “Blood Sisters” and as Zina in “Far From Home”.
Genoveva Umeh came to the limelight for her role of Testimony in the movie “A Tribe Called Judah” produced by one of Nollywood finest Funke Akindele.
