Louise Harman (born December 19, 1985) professionally known as Lady Sovereign, is a British singer and songwriter. She came to prominence for her singles “Love Me or Hate Me” and “9 to 5”. She is a versatile singer with music genre of Hip Hop and grime.

Early Life
Lady Sovereign was born on December 19, 1985 in Wembley, London, England. She was raised in Chalkhill estate to be precise.
Her mother, Nicola, died on March 1r, 20210 as she was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour.
Career
Lady Sovereign started her career at the age of 15 where she began uploading her songs on the various music platforms.
She got signed to Universal in 2004 and released quite a number of singles. She also became the opening act for the likes of Obie Trice, the streets, Basement Jaxx and Dizze Rascal.
She came to prominence for her singles “9 to 5”, “A Little Bit of Shhh!” and freestyles such as “Cheeky” and “Tango”.
She released her Vertically Challenged EP, in 2005 and followed up with the second EP, Blah Blah, in 2006.
She came to spotlight in the American music scene when she met with the CEO of the labels, Dem Jam recordings and Roc-A-Fella Records, Jay-Z.
She released her debut album ” Public Warning” in 2006 under Def Jam record label. The album boast of hit singles like “Hoodie”, “9 to 5”, “Love Me or Hate Me” and “Random”.
She released her second album, Jigsaw in 2009 where she revealed that the album would be released through her independent record label, Midget Records.

Lady Sovereign has made numerous television amd commervial appearances. She appeared on Socver AM and also in a feature story on Cartoon Network. She also made an appearance on American talk show the Late show with David Letterman.
Ever since she came to limelight, she has not released any music since 2009 due to medical issues hindering her career but she has not stated the exact illness.
