Career
Joao Palhinha began his career at the youth level with Alta de Lisboa in 2008 and went through the youth ranks of Sacavennse and Sporting CP.
He made his first team debut at Sporting CP in 2017 and later went on loan to Moreirense, Belenenses and Braga.
He returned to Sporting CP in 2020 and instantly became a starter and won the 2020-21 Primera Liga.
He signed a five-year deal with the English club Fulham for a transfer fee of £20 million, on July 4, 2022. He made his Premier league debut in a 2-2 home draw against Liverpool on August 6 and scored his first goal for the club, 14 days later, in a 3-2 victory over Brentford.
At the international scene, Palhinha represented Portugal at the under-18, under-19, and under-20 levels. He was called up to the senior team for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Azerbaijan, Luxembourg, and Serbia.
