Early Life
Born Calvin Chinedu Ughelumba on December 31, 1999 in Aosta, Italy. His father’s name is Kingsley Ughelumba and his mother’s name is Ebere Bassey. He grew up on Newham, England with his three siblings.
He has a brother named Matthew Bassey popularly known as Y.C.B, an English rapper who makes music under UK drill group. He has two other brothers named Elvis and Michael. His parents parted ways in 2008 which led to the mother leaving Italy for England and changing the surnames of the three Boys.

Career
Bassey began his career at the youth level with Leicester City. He joined Rangers in 2020 and made his professional debut for the club in a 3-0 victory against St Mirren, on August 9, 2020. He scored his first goal for the club in a 4-0 win over Falkirk in the Scottish League Cup.
He joined Ajax for a club record fee of £20million, in July 2022. He signed a four-year contract with the English club Fulham for a transfer fee of €21 million, on July 28, 2023.
Bassey who is eligible to represent Italy, Nigeria or England at the international level, decided to play for Nigeria. He was called up for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in 2021 and made his debut in a 0-0 draw with Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification match on March 25, 2022. He is also included in the squad for the AFCON 2023.
