Early Life
Ines Rau was born Ines-Loan Rau on March 18, 1990, in Paris, France. She is of Algerian descent. Her father is Algerian and her mother is French Moroccan.
She transitioned and underwent sex re assignment surgery at the age of 16 with the support of her parents after being inspired by the life story of English trans model Caroline Cossey.
Career
Ines Rau started her career as a dancer at the age of 18. She began dancing for Djs in Ibiza, through which she became friends with David Guetta.
She posed nude with Tyson Beckford for a spread in OOB, a French luxury magazine in 2013, after which she came out as transgender.
She appeared in Playboy’s “A-Z issue” in a spread titled “Evolution” in 2014. She became the second transgender woman to be featured in Playboy after Cossey in 1981.
She appeared in Vogue Italia and in a campaign for Balmain. She also worked as a model for the likes of Nicole Miller, Alexis Bittar and Barneys New York.
Rau was announced as “Playmate of the month” in the magazine’s November/December issue, which makes her the first openly transgender woman to be featured this way.
