Gims (sometimes called Maitre Gims) is an award-winning Congolese-French singer, Rapper, songwriter and producer. He is well known for his music genres of hip hop, Pop, afropop and ndombolo. He is a former member of the hip hop group Sexion d’Assaut. He officially became the first French-speaking Rapper to fill the Stade de France with over 72,000 audiences on September 28, 2019.

Early Life
Born Gandhi Alimasi Djuna on May 5, 1986 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. He grew up in France as his parents moved to France in 1988 when he was 2 years old. His father Djanana Djuna is a musician. He is from a family of fourteen children. Some of his siblings are Dadju, Bedjik, and Xgangs.
Career
Gims is a former member of the hip hop group Sexion d’Assaut and came through with his first album , Subliminal in 2013. He followed up with two other albums; Mon coeur avait raison in 2015 and Ceinture noire in 2018.
He came to prominence for his song “La même”. He is also credited for songs like Mi Gna, Seya, Bella, Mirage, Arhbo and so on.
He has worked with several international artists such as Maluma, Sting, Lil Wayne, Stromae, Sia, and Pitbull.
Gims founded his own clothing brand, Vortex Vx in 2013. The same year, he also participated as a guest in the Popstars program where he gave advice to the young groups as regards their career.

Personal Life
Gims married two women; a French woman of which they have two children together. She lives in Morocco and both are separated, and then a French woman of Malian origin Demdem, married in 2015 and has three children together.
However, Gims denied the rumours and stated clearly that he has only been married once. He converted to Islam in 2004. He also applied for French nationality in 2018 and was refused based on his bigamy which is not authorised in French or European law.
