Born Albert Mboyo Sambi Lokonga on October 22, 1999, in Verviers, Linge, Belgium. He is of Congolese descent. His mother is Joseé Lokonga and his father’s name is Desiré Lokonga. He has a brother named Paul-Jose M’ Poku, who is also a professional footballer.
Career
Sambi Lokonga began his career at the youth level with Anderlecht in 2010. He signed his first professional contract with the club on November 10, 2017, and made his professional debut in a 1-0 victory against Eupen on December 22, 2017.
He joined the English club Arsenal on July 19, 2021 for a transfer fee of £17.2 million. He made his debut in a 2-0 away loss to Brentford.
He joined Crystal Palace on a short-term loan on January 31, 2023, and made his debut for the club on February 4, in a 2-1 away loss to Manchester United.
He went on a season-long loan to the English club Luton Town on September 1, 2023, and made his debut in a 1-0 away loss to Fulham, where he played for 74 minutes before being substituted.
