Abrewa Nana was born Dorcas Opoku Dakwa on December 3, 1980, in Ghana to parents Isaac Dakwa and Juliana Blankson. She was raised by her single mother.
Nana had her primary education in Accra, and went to Aggrey Memorial Senior High School for her secondary education. She proceeded to Takoradi Polytechnic to study Business Accounting.
Career
Nana began composing songs in school. She came to the limelight for her album Sagoa, in 2000.
She released her second album African Girl in 2002, and her third album Maba, in 2004.
She was unveiled as a judge on Idols West Africa in 2007 alongside Dede Mabiaku and Dan foster, to become one of the youngest judges Idols’ history at the age of twenty-seven.
She has also been on stage with popular artists such as Akon and 2face.
