Early Life
Wax Dey was born on May 9, 1985 in Bamenda, Cameroon. He originally hails from the Northwest Region of Cameroon.
He attended Sacred Heart College in Bamenda and also studied Law at the University of Buea.
Career
Wax Dey developed an interest in music after being inspired by his father who brought home VHS Cassette. He began listening to the likes of Marvin Gaye and Smokey Robinson. He was also part of the school choir and took part in songs competitions.
Wax Dey came through professionally in 2008 with the release of African Soul with records like Butterfly.
He dropped his debut solo album in 2016 “360 degrees” with features from the Nigerian sensations, Yemi Alade and Banky W.
He also released the EP, Rise Again: The Lockdown EP, as inspired by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Wax Dey already boast of top-notch singles such as; Number One Girl, Kiss of the Death, Saka Makossa and many others.
Aside music, he became a LuquLuqu ambassador to the UN in Africa 2017 and also ran for the position for board chair of Cameroon Music Corporation (SONACAM) and lost the elections.
