Tamar Braxton was born on March 17, 1977, in Maryland, United States, to parents Michael and Evelyn Braxton. Her father, Micahel Braxton, was a pastor.
Tamar is the youngest in her family. She has four sisters, which include Toni Braxton, Traci Braxton, Towanda, and Trina. She also has a brother named Michael Jr.
Career
She has been able to develop her passion for music with influences from the likes of Diana Ross, Whitney Houston, Kim Burrel Mariah Carey, and, of course, her elder sister, Toni Braxton.
She started her career in 1990 as a member of The Braxtons, an R&B music group formed with her sisters. She and her sisters signed their first record deal with Arista Records in 1989 and they released their first single, “Good Life” in 1990.
The music group released their debut album, So Many Ways, in 1996 before the group disbanded.
Tamar came through with her self-titled debut album via DreamWorks Records in 2000. The album boasts production credit from Missy Elliot, Tricky Stewart, and Tim & Rob. She began to work with her sister Toni Braxton in several songs and appearances in music videos including the video for the song “He wasn’t man enough”. She also co-wrote, performed, and sang background vocals on songs for Toni’s albums such as; Libra, Snowflakes, More than a woman, and so on.

She released her second album, Love, and War in 2013, through Epic Records. She released her fourth album Calling All Lovers in 2015 and her fifth album, Bluebird of Happiness in 2017.
As a television personality, Braxton starred in the We TV reality television series Braxton Family Values in 2011 alongside her mother and sister. She became the co-host on the Fox syndicated daytime talk show The Real from 2013 to 2016. She won the second season of Celebrity Big Brother in 2019.

Tamar Braxton married her first husband, Darell “Delite,” Allamby, a music producer in 2001. Both of them met when Allamby worked on her 2000 debut album tracks “Money Can’t Buy me Love” and “Once Again.” The couple went their separate ways and divorced in 2003.
Tamar began dating Vincent Herbert, a record executive in 2003. She met him through her sister, Toni. Tamar and Vincent married on November 27, 2008, and welcomed their first child, a son, Logan Vincent, in 2013. The couple also divorced in 2019 due to irreconcilable differences.
However, Tamar was also in a relationship with David Adefeso, a financial adviser. Adefeso later filed a restraining order against Braxton for domestic violence in September 2020.
Tamar found out that she had several pulmonary emboli in her lungs in November 2015. The situation forced her to withdraw from her work on Dancing with the Stars.
