Divine Ikubor (born May 15, 2000) professionally known as Rema, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He got signed to Jonzing records (owned by D’Prince) in conjuction with Mavin records in 2019. He came to limelight for his hit single “Iron man” which went viral online. Rema style of sound is known as “Afrorave”, a subgenre of Afrobeats with influences from Arabian and Indian music.

Rema was born on May 1, 2000 in Benin City, Edo State where he hails from. He also had both his primary and secondary education in Ighile group of school, Edo State.
It all started in 2018 as Rema was discovered on Instagram through his freestyle to D’Prince’s song “Gucci Gang”. He was offered a record deal with D’Prince’s record label, Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin records in 2019. He became an addition to the Mavin record label, which was already a home to the likes of Reekado Banks, Tiwa Savage, Korede Bello, Ladipoe and so on.
He came through with his debut EP under the label and also released the visual to “Dumebi”, one of the hit song on the EP. The video whuch was directed by Ademola Falomo, already boast of over 45 million views on YouTube.
