Rabelani Madula popularly known as Rabs Vhafuwi is a South African Disc Jockey and music producer born on December 1, 1984. He is one of the best producer of House music in South Africa.

Vhafuwi is a multi-talented and instrumentalist who used to play the tshikona, a Venda flute.

He has got lots of collaborations to his credit and got featured on a number of media platforms.

Early Life

Rabelani originally hails from Dzimauli Mukondeni in Venda where he grew up before he eventually moved to Cape Town in 2011.

He obtained a B-Tech degree in production management from the Vaal University of Technology and a National diploma in foundations management from the Gordon Institute of Business Service.

Career

Rabs started out in 2008 where he play CDJs before he became perfect in 2009.

He was able to develop his passion with influences from the likes of Oskido and Revolution.

He began to produce his own own music and released his first single online “Fundudzi”, a song which featured his mother , Vho-Sarah on vocals. He followed up with his debut album “Count Your Blessing” which comprises of 14 tracks.

He came to limelight 2014 with his joint production on “Count Your Blessings” alongside Metro FM Music Award nominee DJ Mizz.

The song “Count Your Blessing” is one of his most successful work which became a major hit on radio stations such as; Metro FM, Phalaphala FM, Mungana, and with over 200,000 views on YouTube. The song boast of amazing features from Peter Ndlala on sax and trumpets and David Mayakane on guitar.

His project “Music Mystery”, is a fusion of jazz instrumentals with house and lounge influences as it blends well with the smooth electronic house sounds of Gugulethu’s Siohe Tebeka.

He is well known drop an album every two years. He released his album “Unboxed” in October 2020.

He also run his own label, Freeze The Moment Productions in Johannesburg.
