Early Life & Background
Mdlongwa was born to a Zimbabwean father, Esaph Mdlongwa, who was a politician and his mother, Emily Sophia Molifi, from Brits, South Africa.
He spent his childhood in Luveve, Zimbabwe’s second largest city, Bulawayo, where his father hails from.
He attended Giford High School in Bulawayo and had returned to South Africa in 1987 where he worked at the family tuckshop before he eventually pursued a career in music.
Career
he bean sneaking his way into the Razzmatazz nightclub in Hillbrow, Johannesburg, where he would spin the closing sessions and slow down American house tracks to a tempo that ‘African could dance to’.
He founded Kalawa Records alongside music producers, Don Laka and Christos Katsaitis. They released theri self entitled BOP (Brothers of Peace) compilation in 1993. They rebranded the label to be Kalawa Jazmee in 1995.
Today, Oskido has numerous albums to his credit and lot of collaborations which include the likes of Tamara Dey, Winnie Khumalo and Monique.
He has produced several music artist which include; Mafikizolo, Bongo Maffin, Boom Shaka and has worked with top Nigerian singers such as Davido and May D.
Aside music, he is also an entrepreneur who owns a restaurant, Daruma Japanese Restaurant.

Personal Life
Oskido separated from his wife, Kibi, in 2015.
He later got married to Mathapelo. Oskido and his former wife, Kibi shares two children together and he has son with Mathapelo.
