Dora Akunyili’s daughter, Chiogo and her Canadian beau first had a civil ceremony in Canada in February before coming down to Nigeria for the rest of their wedding party in Anambra state.

They had their traditional and church wedding ceremonies on June 2, 2018 in Agulu, Anambra state.

2. Halimat Oluwatosin Saraki and Adeniyi Olukoya

The Senate president of Nigeria and former Kwara state governor, Bukola Saraki finally gave out his Daughter, Halimat Oluwatosin Saraki out in marriage with the events held in both Lagos and Abuja.

It was an exciting moment for Saraki as the event was attended by several dignitaries including Aliko Dangote, Former president Olusegun Obasanjo, Vice president Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and many others.

3. Fatima Dangote and Jamil Abubakar

Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote gave out his daughter, Fatima Dangote out for marriage and it was nothing short of being spectacular as their wedding shut down Kano, Abuja and Lagos.

Her husband, Jamil Abubakar, is the son of former inspector general of police, Mohammed Abubakar. The wedding ceremony was attended by infleuntial people from withing and outside the country including Bill Gates who came for the event.

First daughter of Chris Oyakhilome, Carissa Sharon Oyakhilome (CSO) got married traditional to her Ghanaian beau Philip Frimpong on October 4, 2018. She also had a beautiful white wedding ceremony which was attended by guest from all around the world.

5. Fatima Ganduje and Abolaji Ajimobi

The union of the daughter of Kano state governor, Fatima Ganduje and son of Oyo state governor, Abolaji Ajimobi is one of the most prominent weddings this year has witnessed.

The wedding saw the union of two people from different tribes; northern and southern parts of the country. The ceremonies were held in Kano from a henna party, ‘Kamu’, dinner, ‘Yininbiki’ and Durbar in the city of Kano followed by a wedding reception in Ibadan. Several dignitaries had made their way to Kano to celebrate with the two families such as Dr. Bukola Saraki, President Muhammadu Buhari, Aiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Yakubu Dogara and many others.

6. Damilola Osinbajo and Oluseun Bakare

Vice president’s daughter, Damilola Osinbajo had walked down the aisle to her fiance, Oluseun Bakare, who happens to be the son of socialite, Bola Shagaya.

The event started with a traditional wedding to a church service and followed immediately with a reception. The wedding was a private ceremony with only invited guests in attendance.

7. Xerona Duke and Derin Phillips

Former governor of Cross River state, Donald Duke hosted a wedding for his daughter Xerona Duke who walk down the aisle with Derin Phillips also known as DJ Caise, son of former Lagos state commissioner, Olateju Phillips. They had their engagement last year October and got hitched with a traditional weeding held in Calabar. They also exchanged marital vows at the Olive Tree Parish, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Lagos.
