Born Halimatu Ibrahim Ayinde on May 16, 1995, in Kaduna State, northern part of Nigeria.
Career
Halimatu began her football career at the domestic level where she played for Delta Queens.
She signed for the American team Western New York Flash on June 15, 2015 and later joined the Belarusian premier league side FC Minsk in 2016.
She played for Asaruma IF and Eskilstuna United in 2018 and 2019 respectively. She joined the Swedish club FC Rosengard in 2022.
Halimatu represented Nigeria at the under-17 and under-20 levels. She was part of the Nigerian squad at the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the team that won the 2014 African Women’s Championship. She was also part of the squad for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
