Genevieve Nnaji is the fourth child in a family of eight born in Mbaise, Imo state to an engineer father and her mother, a professional nurse.
She’s originally from Mbaise, Imo state but grew up in Lagos where she attended Methodist Girls College, Yaba for her secondary education and studied Theatre Arts at the University of Lagos.
She began her career as a child actress at the age of 8 after starring in the defunct tv soap opera “Ripples”.
Genevieve Nnaji started acting professionally in 1998 where she starred in the movie “Most Wanted:, then she was only 19 years of age.
She came to limelight in 2002 with her exciting role in the movie “Sharon Stone” and ever since then she has featured in over 150 Nollywood movies including; Mark of the Beast, Blood Sisters, Last Party, Ijele and many others.
Genevieve shows her versatility when she produced her first movie “Road Yesterday” and since then no one could doubt her talent in the industry.
Asides acting, she’s also a singer who launched her music career with the record deal with EKB records, a Ghanaian record label of which she released her debut album “One Logologo Line”.
Genevieve has a clothing line “St. Genevieve” which she launched in 2008. She gives part of the proceeds from to charity and Orphanages.
The beautiful actress has a daughter which she had at the age of 17. She’s been romantically linked with the likes of D’Banj but the actress reveals she’s still single.
Genevieve Nnaji remains a force to reckon with in the industry. She made history in 2009 for being the first Nigerian actress to be profiled on “The Oprah Winfrey Show”. Genevieve has received numerous awards which include; Actress of the year at the City People Awards (2001), Actress of the year award at the inaugural edition African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) in 2015.
