A story teller with unique sound, Funbi Emiola simply known as Funbi, is a Nigerian singer with musical genres of RnB and Funk music.

Funbi is a son of a college professor and had grew up alongside his 5 siblings.

He was raised in Ilorin, Kwara State before he moved down to Lagos in 2002.

Funbi who is known for pioneering the new Afropolitan rhythm, has been afround the music industry for a long time while working with the rap duo, Show Dem Camp and the Collectiv3.

Career

Funbi started doing music at a very tende age in the choir but came through professionally in 2010.

He had made an attempt to take his craft more seriously with credit to 2shotz and Ice Prince but got his first shot at the big stage after being featured on M.I’s second series of “Illegal music” mixtape. He got his voice on the single “Beg for it” off the mixtape.

Funbi whose musical influences include the likes of Usher, Craig David, Chris Brown and so on, finally released his debut studio project “Serenade” on November 4, 2018.

His official studio project “Serenade” is a 7 track body of work which tells tales around love, relationship and heartbreak.

Funbi came to limelight with the release of his official single “Halleluyah” in 2016. The song is a quasi-gospel record which has cemented his position with a proper hit in the Nigerian music industry.
