Early Life & Background

Folu Stroms was born on November 25, 1986 in Surulere part of Lagos state.

She attended Corona VI and The Lagon Secondary school and then at St Leonards Mayfield for her primary and secondary education respectively.

She obtained a law degree (LLB) at Aberystwyth University and proceeded to the University of Bristol for her Master of Laws (LLM). She also has a diploma in Broadcast Journalism from Pan African University.

Career

After practicing law for a while, Folu began her career in the media with the radio station 92.3 Inspiration FM in 2012.

She had competed for the MTV Base Africa’s VJ search and emerged one of the three finalists.

She later worked as a presenter and content producer for Ndani TV where she produced several Ndani TV shows such as Juice Season 1, The New Africa Style, Guide & Young C.E.O.

Folu also co-hosted the Breakfast show at Smooth 98.1FM in Lagos and was still doing this in 2019.

As an actress, she joined the MTV Shuga in 2019 alongside Osas Ighodaro where she played the role of ‘Sope’. She has also starred such as; The Mens Club S.3, Unmarried, Rule No.1 and so on.

Awards & Nominations

Storms won the 2017 Ebony Life TV Sisterhood Awards for TV Personality of the Year, the 2018 On-Air Personality award for the Future and ELOY Awards.

Her documentary “The New Africa documentary” was nominated for best documentary award at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
