Early Life
Choupo Moting was born Jean Eric maxim Choupo-Moting March 23, 1989, in Harmburg, Germany, to a German mother and Cameroonian father. He attended Gymnasium Altona.
Career
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting began his football career at the youth level with Teutonia 05, then to Altona 93, FC St. Pauli, Harmburger SV youth academy.
He made his professional career with Harmburger SV, making his Bundesliga debut in August 2007. He went onnloan to FC Nurnberg and later joined FSV Mainz 05.
He moved to Schalke 04 in August 2014, after three seasons with Mainz. He joined the English club side Stoke City in August 2017 and later moved on to the French club Paris Saint-Germain on a two year deal in August 2018.
Choupo-Moting joined Bayern Munich on a free transfer in October 2020.
Choupo-Moting represented his country of birth Germany at the 2008 UEFA European Under-19 Championship qualification and at the 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification.
He was called up to the Cameroonian national team on May 1, 2010, and represented Cameroon at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
