Wilfred Ndidi started his career at a tender age with the Nath Boys Academy before making his way to the Belgian club side Genk.
He made his debut for Genk on January 31, 2015 in a match against Charleroi where hen played the first 74 minutes of the game before being substituted for Jarne Vrijsen.
Ndidi was able to quickly adapt to the Belgium environment as aided by the Belgian couple, Theo and Marleen Van Vlierden.
During his stay at the club, he scored a long range goal which was named ‘goal of the season’ and this got an attraction from the English club side, Leicester City, which is also a home to the likes of Nigerian players such as Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho.
A transfer deal was reached on December 3, 2016 by Leicester City and Genk as Ndidi was seen as a possible replacement for N’Golo Kante who left Leicester City for Chelsea.
Ndidi made his premier league debut against Chelsea on January 14, 2017 and got his first red card in a 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on December 16, 2017, a day which happens to be his birthday.
Ndidi was also part of the Nigerian U-20 team where he came on as a substitute for Mikel Obi in a 3-0 win against Cameroon. He was also part of 35-man provisional squad in the 2016 Summer Olympics.
