Bryan Michael Cox is an American songwriter and music producer who came to prominence for his works on some of Usher’s hit songs “Burn”, “U Got It Bad”, and “Confessions Part II”. He is also knwon for his productions on “You Don’t Know What To Do” by Mariah Carey and “Be Without You” by Mary J Blige”.

Cox already boast of more than 35 nimber one hits records and 12 Grammy Awars nomjnations. He is referred to as one of the most commercially succesful songwriters and producers in the history of contemporary R&B. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009, for his contribution in the music industry. He was also named one of Billboard’ “Top 10 Producers of the Decade.”

Bryan Muchael Cox was born on December 1, 1977, in Miami, Florida, United States.

He went to Houston’s Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, where he developed his passion for music. After his school education, he proceeded to Clark Atlanta University.

Career

Cox began writing songs at the age of six. He met Beyonce in high school, where he recorded his first ever demo tape with her. Seven years later, Bryan produced a track on Destiny’s Child Destiny Fulfilled.

He was discovered by his manager Chris Hicks, when he was an intern at Noontime records in Atlanta, Georgia. Cox first two hit singles as a producer were “Get Gone” and “Creep Inn” for the R&B group Ideal.

Cox had lots of contributions to top songs from 2000 to 2005. He wrote the song “Puppy Love” and the “Big Mommas House” off Lil Bow Bow’s debut album “Beware of dog”. He worked with Jagged Edge on his second studio album J.E Heartbreak, contributing songs “He Can’t Love You” and “Lets Get Married”. He worked on Tamar Braxton’s debut album, Tamar, co-writing and producing the song “Get None” alongside Jermaine Dupri. He also contributed to Toni Braxton’s third studio album “The Heat”, where he wrote and co-produced the second single “Just Be A Man About It”.

Cox worked with the R&B sensation Usher, where he co-wrote and produced some of his hit singles such as Burn, Confessions, U Got It Bad. He worked with Mariah Carey on the songs “Shake It Off” and “Don’t Forget About Us”. He also worked with Mary J. Blige on her seventh studio album The Breakthrough, where he co-wrote the lead single “Be Without You”.

Cox contributed to Bow Wow’s fifth studio album, The Price of Fame, in 2009, where he co-wrote the first single “Shoety Like Mine”. In 2007, he worked with Mary J. Blige on her eight studio album, Growing Pains, and co-wrote the song “Stay Down”. He wrote five songs for the group Day26’s self titled album, in 2008.

Michael Cox co-wrote and produced the song “Never Let You Go” by Justin Bieber off his debut album My World 2.0, in 2010 and also worked on Love and War for Tamar Braxton in 2013.

Bryan Muchael Cox has also written and produced songs for other top artists like Bobby V, Bryson Tiller, Carl Thomas, Ciara, Danity Kane, Joe, Kehlani, Keyshis Cole, Omarions, Trey Songz, and Tyrese.
