Born Brahim Abdelkader Diaz on August 3, 1999 in Malaga, Spain to a Spanish mother and a Moroccan father.
Career
Brahim Diaz began his career at the youth level with Malaga in 2010 and went through the youth academy of Manchester City.
He made his first team debut for Manchester City in an EFL Cup tie against Swansea City where he came on as a substitute for Kelechi Ihenacho at the 80th minute, on September 21, 2016. He signed his first professional contract with City for three years, five days later. He made his Champions league debut against Feyenoord on November 21, 2017 and made his Premier league debut in a 3-1 victory against Newcastle United on January 20, 2018.
He joined Real Madrid for a transfer fee of £15.5 million, on January 6, 2019, with the contract set to run until 2025. He made his debut in a 3-0 win against Leganes, and scored his first goal in a 1-3 loss to Real Sociedad.
He went on loan to AC Milan for the 2020-21 season and scored his first goal in a 2-0 away win over Crotone.
He returned to Real Madrid on June 10, 2023 after a three season loan at AC Milan and signed a contract extension with the club until June 2027. He scored his first goal upon his return in a 2-0 win against Las Palmas
At the international scene, Brahim represented Spain at the under-17, under-19, and under-21 levels. He made his senior debut in a 4-0 friendly match win against Lithuania.
