South African Group Through To America’s Got Talent Finals

A group from Limpopo, South Africa has against the odds sailed through to America’s Got Talent finals.

Ndlovu Youth Choir, a group formed in 2009 as part of the Ndlovu Care Group, remain in contention to win $1 million from the show.

Once again, the group was saved by judges after finishing bottom two in the public voting phase.

Judge Gabrielle Union was first to give them her vote, calling them ‘’pride of the world’’.

Dancer and singer Julianne Hough followed next, also giving the choir her thumbs up.

Comedian Howie Mandel however went a different route, choosing to vote for singer Robert Finley who was on stage with the youth choir.

It was left to Simon Cowell to decide, and he cast his vote for the South Africans.

Should Ndlovu Youth Choir go on to win the competition, they would become the first Africans to do so, and one of the few winners not of American origin.
