Early Life
Soipan Tuya was born Roselinda Soipan Tuya on January 1, 1979 in Nairobi, Kenya. She is the daughter of Samson Ole Tuya, a former Narok South MP. Her father worked as a teacher before he became a member of the Parliament. She is the 4th child in a family of 7 children. She is from a Christian background and from Massai Tribe where she was raised.
Education
Soipan completed her secondary school education at Kenya High School in 1998. She obtained a bachelor of Law from the University of Nairobi for her tertiary education also proceeded to University of Washington for her Master of Law (LL.M).
Career
Soipan Tuya began her career professionally as a legal advisor at Mainyotto Pastoralist Integrated Development Organization in 2004.
She also served as Women’s representative for Narok County from 2013 to 2022. She remained a member of some of the popular institutions in Kenya.
She was a former member of the Departmental Committee on Defence & Foreign Relations.
She came to the limelight as the Cabinet secretary for Environment, Cilmate Change & Forestry. She became a cabinet minister under the Jubilee political party.
