Simon Ekpa was born in Ohaukwu local government area of Ebonyi State, on March 21, 1985. He resides in Lahti, Finland, since 2007. He attended Aberystwyth University, Wales.

Career

Simon Ekpa was an athlete who won a silver medal for Nigeria on 100 metres in the 2003 African Junior Athletics Championship in Cameroon.

He is a member of the National Coalition Party of Finland, and was also a candidate in the 2022 Finnish county elections.

He was also a member of the Board and vice chairman for Building/Construction Works and Environment in the Lahti Region, Finland.

He is a Nigerian-Finnish based lawyer who became known when he was made lead broadcaster for Radio Biafra, associated with the separatist organisation indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) after the arrest of political activist Nnamdi Kanu. He was sacked after few weeks  as the lead broadcaster with reference to violation of the rules of the organisation.
