Early Life
Born Serhou Yadaly Guirassy on March 12, 1996 in Arles, France to Guinean parents. He is from Guinea where majority are of the Muslim religion.
Career
Serhou Guirassy began his career at the youth level with Montargis in 2009 and went through the youth academy of Amily and Laval.
He joined Lille from Laval in 2015 and signed a four-year contract. He went on loan to Auxerre in 2016.
He signed a five-year contract with 1. FC Kƶln in July 2016. He made his Bundesliga debut in a 2-1 defeat against Hamburger SV on April 1, 2017. He went on loan to Amiens in January 2019 till the end of the season. The loan deal was later made permanent with transfer fee of about 6 million Euros.
He joined the French club Rennes on a five-year contract on August 27, 2020 and later joined the German club VfB Stuttgart on loan for the 2022-23 season.
At the international scene, he represented France at the Under-16, under-19 and under-20 levels.
Despite being eligible to play for France, he decided to play for the home country of his parents, the Republic of Guinea, at the senior level. He made his debut for the national team of Guinea in a 0-0 draw friendly match against South Africa on March 25, 2022.
