Sarah Hassan is an award winning Kenyan actress, producer and TV presenter born on September 5, 1988.
Sarah was born and raised in Mobassa.
She is the only child of her parents; Lucian and Hassan.
Tanya as fondly called, is half Kamba and half Coasyarian (Arab).
She attended the Machakos Girls High School and later got a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculure and Technology.
She was among the top most 100 influential young Kenyans in 2016.
She had moved to Los Angeles, California in January 2016 for two and a half years to study and learn more about the film industry where she had produced and co-directed a short film “The Company You Keep”.
Career
Sarah Hassan started acting at the age of 5 and already boast of major roles in TV several TV series and movies.
She came through professionally in 2009 with a role in the TV Show “Tahidi High” as Tanya and that marked the beginning of her breakthrough in the Kenyan movie industry.
She followed up with roles as Leah on Jane & Abel and in 2013’s House of Lungula.
She also starred in the TV series; Demigods, Saint and Changes.
She is known to have co-starred with Wunmi Mosaku in the 2010 film “I Am a Slave”.
She produced and featured on the television film “Plan B” (2019) alongside Daniel Etim Effiong. The film already enjoyed over one million views on Youtube in its first two weeks of its release.
