She is the middle child in a family of five children born to her parents; Susan Curran and Peter Culpo. Her father is a businessman. She has four siblings; two sisters, Sophia Culpo, Aurora Culpo and brothers, Peter Culpo, Gus Culpo.
She went to St. Mary Academy and proceeded to Boston University. She also attended Brevard Music Center, in Brevard, North Carolina.

Olivia Culpo came to limelight after she emerged winner of the Miss Rhode Island USA in 2012. She also won the Miss USA beauty pageant in 2012.
She represented United States at the Miss Universe 2012 and emerged winner of the beauty pageant. She became the eight representative from the United States to win the title and the first Rhode Islander to win the title.
As a media influencer, Culpo already boast of collaborations with top brands like L’Oreal, Uberliss and Kipling. She also featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
