Ziegler was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Melissa Ziegler-Gisoni and Kurt Ziegler, who owned a mortgage company. Her parents divorced in 2011 and her mother got married to Greg Gisoni, a vice president at Westinghouse Electric Company in 2013.
She is of mixed ehtnicity; of Polish, German and Italian descent.
She also has a younger sister named Mackenzie, also a dancer and a singer.
She also have two older half brothers from her father’s previous marriage and two older step siblings from the previous marriage of her step father, Greg Gisoni.
Ziegler attended had lived with her family in Murrysville, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh.
Career
Maddie Ziegler started taking dance lessons at the age of 2 and had joined the Abby Lee Dance Company at age 4, where she trained in ballet, tap, lyrical, contemporary, across, jazz and aerial dance.
She came to limelight at the age of 8 for appearing in Lifetime’s reality show “Dance Moms”.
She further gained prominence after appearing in a series music videos by Sia which include; Chandelier and Elastic Heart.
Maddie has starred in numerous films and television series such as Ballerina, The Book of Henry, Music, West-side Story, Lucky Thirteen, The View, Live to Dance and so on.
Aise Sia’s music video, Maddie has also appeared in other music videos such as Shine by Mack Z, It’s like Summer by LUX, Cry by Alexx Calise, No New Frends by LSD, Bitch by Lennon Stella and so on.
She has modeled for magazine covers and in advertisements for top brands like Ralph Lauren, Capezio, Fabletics and Traget.
