Early Life
Lydia Jazmine was born Lydia Nabawanuka on July 27, 1991, in Mukono, Uganda.
She went to Victoria Nile School for her elementary education. She attended St Mary’s School Namaliga in Kimenyedde sub-country, Mukono District and completed her high school at Cityland College in Matugga, Wakiso District. She obtained a Bachelor and Business Adminsitration and Management degree from Multitech Business School in Kampala, Uganda.
Career
Jazmine began doing music in higj school where she joined a band called Gertnum and was involved with background vocals.
She was signed as a backup singer by the music group Radio and Weasel. She is the back-up vocalist on the songs “Ntunga” and “Breath Away”. She also performed background vocal lyrics for Bebe Cool and Sheebah Karungi. She came through with her first single titled “You Know” which is a duet with Rabadaba, in 2014.
She was selected to represent Uganda in “Coke Studio Africa 2017”. She was paired with Mozambican singer Liloca and assigned to South African music producer Sketchy Bongo.
Jazmine came to the limelight for her song “Masuka”. She also got more exposure for her single “I Love You Bae”.
She has numerous songs released to her credit, which include: You and Me, This must be love, Mega, Binji binji, Sing for me, Tukumbe, Cherie, You Know, Nkubanja, Kampala Kyekyo, and so on.
