Early Life
Lasmid was born Lasmid Nathaniel Owusu, on May 24, in Takoradi, Ghana. He is the last child in a family of three children. His parents divorced and he lived with his grandmother at the age of six at Dunkwa-On-Offin in the Central Region of Ghana. He moved to Wassa Akropong to stay with his mother at the age of eleven, and later moved to his father at Tarkwa at the age 13.
He had a good basic and JHS education. He furthered his studies at Takoradi Technical Institute.
Career
Lasmid began doing music at a very early stage while writing songs and doing freestyles.
He developed his passion with influence from top music artistes and being closer to the music studio.
He became known after emerging winner of the MTN Hitmaker Season 8 in 2019. He was signed to Highly Spiritual Music record label by the Ghanaian music producer Kaywa.
He came through with his debut single “Odo Brassband” featuring Kofi Kinaata. He followed with the release of the song “Sika” featuring Dead Peepol. He released the remix featuring Kuami Eugene.
He came to the limelight for his viral single “Friday Night”. He has released other songs such as Atele, Father, Sika, Odo Brasband, Running, and so on.
His recent feature on the song “Butter Bread” by JZyNo, has been a major hit and and exposure for the singer.
