Early Life & Background

J’dess was born Joy Chioma Ebiem on November 3, 1990 in Lagos. She grew up in Apapa area of Lagos.

She is originally from Nara Unataeze town in Nkanu East local government area of Enugu State.

She is the first child of her parents and have 2 siblings.

Her dad is late while her mother is a business woman.

She studied Public Administration at the Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu

Career

J’dess loves to tell stories while growing up and that has made acting so natural for her.

She began acting during her undergraduate days at Enugu. She came through professionally with her debut movie “Wind of Destiny”. It was followed up with another role in the movie “Made in Heaven” where she played Jide Kosoko‘s Little niece.

She started doing music in the Church where she joined the Choir. She became part of the Acapella group, the Destined.

She started as a gospel singer and has been in competition such as The Voice Nigerian in 2017 where she emerged finalist and the Destiny Child which she won in 2013.

Aside her amazing vocals, she is very good at playing the guitar.

She has major collaborations with the Afro solo singer, BK, the high life band, the Cavemen and also an opening act for singer, Waje’s Red Velvet concert.

J’dess has also worked with top acts in the country such as Sammie Okposo, Wizboy, Banky W, Olaitan Dada, Cobhams Asuquo and many others.
