Heidi Klum was born on June 1, 1973, in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany to parents Erna Klum and Gunther Klum. Her father was a cosmetics company executive and her mother was, a hairdresser.
She also became an American citizen while also maintaining her native German citizenship.
Career
Heidi Klum first enrolled in a national modeling contest “Model 92” and emerged the winner. She was offered a modeling contract by the CEO of Metropolitan Models New York, Thomas Zeumer.
Klum came to the limelight after appearances on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and also became the first German model to become a Victoria’s Secret Angel. She hosted Victoria’s Secret Fashion shows in 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009.

Heidi Klum married stylist Ric Pipino in 1997 and divorced in 2002. She began dating Flavio Briatore, the Italian managing director of Renault’s Formula One team, in 2003 and soon parted ways.
Klum started a relationship with the musician Seal. She gave birth to her daughter Leni in May 2004. Klum and Seal got engaged in December 2004 and married on May 10, 2005, in Mexico. They have three children together, two sons and a daughter. Klum officially adopted Seal’s surname on November 21, 2009, and became Heidi Samuel. Seal also officially adopted Leni and her last name was changed to Samuel. The couple announced that they were separating after seven years of marriage. She filed for divorced from Seal and also requested that her name to be restored to her birth name of Heidi Klum. Their divorce was finalized on October 14, 2014.
Klum began dating her bodyguard, Martin Kirsten, from 2012 to 2014 and also dated art curator Vito Schnabel from 2014 to 2017.
She got engaged to guitarist Tom Kaulitz in 2018 and married in August 2019.
