Haris Rauf was born on November 7, 1993, in Rawalpindi, Punjab. His family is originally from Mansehra in Khyber Pakhunkhwa, Pakistan. He attended Islamabad model college for his education.
Career
Rauf became interested in cricket from his college days. He became part of the cricket team of International Islamic University, Islamabad and marked his domestic career after being selected for Lahore Qalandars for the 2018 Abu Dhabi T20 Trophy.
He was named in Baluchistan’s squad for the 2019 Pakistan Cup in march 2019 and made his List A debut for Baluchistan in the 2019 Pakistan Cup on April 2, 2019. He was named in Northern’s squad for the 2019-20 Quaid e-Azam Trophy tournament. He joined the Melbourne Stars for 2019-20 Big Bash Leafue season as a replacement for Dale Steyn in December 2019. He was signed by Yokrshire County Cricket Club in December 2021.
On his international career, he was named in Pakistan’s Twenty20 International squad for their series against Bangladesh in January 2020. He was named in the squad for Pakistan’s tour to England during the COVID-19 pandemic in June 2020.
He was named in Pakistan’s One Day International squad for for the first match against Zimbabwe on October 29, 2020 and was later named in Pakistan’s test squad for their series against the West Indies in March 2021.
He was named in Pakistan’s Test squad for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in September 2021 and also for their series against Australia in February 2022.
