Early Life
Born Nwakaego Ihenacho Ogbaro and raised in Imo before moving to Lagos where she had both her primary and secondary education.
She went to Central Primary School and Ikeja High School, GRA in Lagos and also proceeded to Lagos State University where she majored in Oublic Administration before she eventually dropped out.
Career
Ego had passion for singing and acting at a very tender age. She was inspired to sing listening to the likes of Peter Tosh, Jackson Five, Dolly Parton, Don Williams, and Onyeka Onwenu.
She came to the limelight as a backup singer for the famous Nigerian singer Lagbaja. They recorded hit songs like “Far Away”, “Nothing for you”, and “Konko Below”.
Ego went on a solo career in 2007 and formed a band named Indigo. She was signed as a Globacom ambassador in 2008, where she headlined events like the Glo ‘Borrow Me Data’. She also made appearance on Ndani’s TV session in 2013.
