Early Life
Debbie Shokoyo was born Deborah Ajijolajesu Shokoya on July 19 in Lagos, into a family of ten children. She is the 8th position among her siblings. She grew up in Lagos but she is originally from Remo in Ogun State.
She had both her primary and secondary education in Lagos State. She obtained a degree in Public Administration at the Polytechnic Ibadan.
Career
Shokoya had passion for acting at a very young age and was able to develop herself with influences from the likes of Dele Oduke, Peju Ogunmola, Richard Mife Damijo (RMD), Funke Akindele, Toying Abraham and so on.
She began acting professionally in 2012 where she got her first role in the movie Creative Man. She became known in 2017 for her exceptional skills in interpreting roles. She was outstanding for her role as Fatty Abebelube in the movie Aye Loja. The movie also featured the likes of Ibrahim Chatta, Dele Odule, and Tunde Owokoniran.
Debbie has starred in numerous television series such as; So Wrong So Wright, Tales of Eve, Freezing Point, and many others. She has also starred in other movies like Ibale Mi, Oyenusi, Ile Opo, Ayelabawo, Oluwonkoko, and many more. She is the producer of the Yoruba movie “Kewa” starring Regina Chukwu.
