Courtney Thorne-Smith was born on November 8, 1967 in San Francisco, California, United States and was raised in Menlo Park, a surburb south of San Francisco.

She had lived with her parents. Her mother, Lora Thorne was a therapist while her father, Walter Smith was a computer market researcher. Her parents divorced when she was barely seven years of age. She also has an elder sister named Jennifer, who is an advertising executive.

She went to Menlo-Atherton High School in Atherton, California and completed her education at Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley, California in 1985.

Career

Thorne-Smith showed up in the 1986 film drama Lucas, close by Winona Ryder, Corey Haim, Charlie Sheen and Winona Ryder.
