Casandra Elizabeth popularly known as Cassie is an American singer, actress, model and dancer born on August 26, 1986.
Cassie was born in New London, Connecticut, to her parents, a Filipino father and mother of African-American, west Indian and Mexican. She also has brother named Rod.
She attended the Williams School, a proprietary school located in the Connecticut College Campus and obtained a Baccalaureate of Arts degree in Sociology with a minor Psychology from UIW.
Cassie started modelling at the age of 14 where she modelled for local department stores, Seventeen magazines and Fashion Catalogue Delia’s.
Cassie came through with music after being spotted by Ryan Leslie at club and two wrote a duet called “Kiss me”. She was signed by Leslie to Next Selection Lifestyle Group, a music media company he founded with online marketing partner Rasheed Richmond.
Cassie rose to fame with the hit single “Me & U” in 2005, a song written and produced by Leslie. At that time, Diddy heard “Me & U” in a club and was convinced by Leslie to partner his Bd Boy record with Leslie’s imprint for the release of Cassie’s debut album.
Ryan Leslie produced most of the songs on the album which is a perfect blend of R&B, hip hop and pop. She had also released singles such as Radio, Balcony, Love a loser ft. G-Eazy an also go on to collaborate with Lil Wayne on “Official Girl”, “The Boys” with Nicki Minaj, “Must be love” with Diddy, “Lets Get Crazy” with Akon. She has worked with top artistes like Rick Ross, French Montana, Meek Mill, Jame Fauntleroy, Eric Hudson, Wiz Khalifa and so on.
Cassie delved into acting in 2008 and made herfilm debut with a role as Sophie Donovan in “Step Up 2: The streets”. She had also starred in other movies such as The Perfect Match and Honey 3: Dare to Dance”.

Cassie has been in a relationship with Diddy from 2007 until the two parted ways on October 7, 2018 due to irreconcilable differences.
