Early Life
BOC Madaki was born Dhnda Luka Bulus Madaki on September 22, 1993, in Bauchi State, Nigeria. He is from Logoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State precisely. He belongs to the Zhar tribe, a minority ethic group in Bauchi. He is the first child and the only male child in a family of five children. His parents are both civil servants. He has four siblings, 4 sisters namely Martha, Elizabeth, Mary and Bridget. Mary died in 2001 and Martha passed away on January 24, 2013.
He had his primary education at Yelwa Practicing School, Yelwa, Bauchi, and secondary education at G.D.S.S Bauchi, Shadawanka Army Barracks, Bauchi. He also obtained a diploma in Estate Management at School of Agriculture, Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic Bauchi.
Career
BOC began as a rapper in 2003 with influence from a friend called Slash D and a church monthly concert titled “Liberation Hour”.
He started out as a gospel artist with Slash D and his brother Chesquer before they fell apart as went on solo as a gospel artist.
He had the chance to perform for the first time in a church at an area called “Bayara” in 2004. He was later joined by Slash D and they performed and recorded their first song as a group called “D-Hood”. During that time, he was known with the stage name “Diamond”.
He parted ways with Slash D in 2007 and changed his name from Diamond to B.O.C. After signing a management deal with “Toss a Coin” for sometime, he came through professionally in 2013 as an independent artist.
He released hit songs like All Na Paro, Black Diary, Dan Gaye, Farida, Good Morning, One of a Kind, Bidinga, and This Year.
He released his album Sorry Please Thanks in 2017 and it comprises of hit songs like Pennates, Do That, Himma, Sir Abubakar, Big Brother, Really Real, Knock Knock and so on.
