Early Life
BIA was born on Augustb16, 1991 in Medford Massachusetts, United States.
She is of mixed ethnicity, Afro Puerto Rican and Italian descent.
She went to college briefly before she dropped out to focus on her music career.
Career
BIA was first discovered through YouTube by rapper Fam-Lay before he was introduced by Pharell. She featured on the Oxygen reality television show, Sisterhood of Hip Hop.
She got signed to Pharell”s I Am Other record label in partnership with Rca records in 2014.
She got featured in songs by J Balvin on ‘Safari’ and Russ ‘Best on Earth’ in 2016. She also released her singles, Whip it and Gucci Comin Home, in th same year which was followed by the release of the songs, Badside and Fungshway in 2017.
She came through with her first EP, Nice Girls Finish Last: Cuidada in 2018. She signed a new record deal with Epic records which she released her second EP, For Certain, on December 11, 2020 under the Epic records imprint.
She has worked with the likes of Usher, T.I, Jennifer Hudson, Lil Durk and so on.
