Early Life
Born Aaron Wan-Bissaka on November 26, 1997 in Croydon, England to parents Ambroise and Elizabeth. He is of Congolese descent and also grew up in New Addington where he had his basic education at Good Shepherd Catholic School. He is the second child in a family of two children. He has an older brother named Kevin
Career
Wan-Bissaka began his career at the youth level in 2009 with the Crystal Palace youth academy.
He came through professionally in 2016 with Crystal Palace after being featured in the senior team under the new manager Frank de Boer, in several friendly games. He made his first team debut for Crystal Palace in a 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on February 25, 2018.
He joined Manchester United for a five-year contract for a fee of £45 million on June 29, 2019. He made his debut for Manchester United in a 4-0 win against Chelsea on August 11, 2019. He scored his first goal for the club in a 4-1 win against Newcastle on Ocyober 17, 2020.
Wan-Bissaka who is of Congolese descent, made a single appearance for Dr Congo U20s in an 8-0 friendly loss against England U17s on October 8, 2015.
However, he choose to represent country of his birth, and was called up to the England under-20 squad in March 2018. He made his debut in a 1-0 win against Poland where he was also sent off in the match. He was called up to the senior team in August 2019, ahead of the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers against Kosovo and Bulgaria but was forced to withdraw from the squad due to injury.
Moreover, Wan-Bissaka found himself in competition with the likes of Kyle Walker, Reese James Kieran Trippier, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, after his withdrawal in 2019, and had since expressed his desire to represent Dr Congo, even though he had not made the switch by 2023.
