Career
Lisandro Martinez began his football career at the youth level with Club Urquiza, Club Libertad, and Newell’s Old Boys. He made his debut for Newell’s in a fixture against Godoy Cruz.
He joined the Argentine Primera Division club Defensa y Justicia on loan in August 2017 and made his first appearance with the club in a match against San Lorenzo.
He signed for the Eredivisie team Ajax on May 17, 2019, before he joined the English club side Manchester United for a reported transfer between £47 million to £49 million, on July 16, 2022.
Martinez represented Argentina at the U20 and U23 levels before being called up to the senior team in march 2019. He won the 2021 Copa America with Argentina.
