Rita Ekwere ( born August 2, 1994) popularly known as Ray BLK, is a multi-talented British singer and songwriter. She came to prominence for her hit single “MIA” featuring Kaash Paige. She already boast of collaborations with the likes of SG Lewis, Stormzy and Wretch 32.

Early Life
Ray BLk was born on August 2, 1994 in Nigeria before her family moved to London when she was barely four years old.
She was raised in Catford, South London, England and studied Literature in English at Brunel University.
The other part of her stage name “BLK”, means Building, Living, Knowing, which she described as her three main values.
Career
Ray BLK started doing music at the age of 13, where she formed a music group with her friend MNEK called “New Found Content”. She released her first recordings while studying at the University.
She came through professionally with her debut EP, Havisham, as released in 2015. She began to release music through her own label and avoided a record deal in other to retain rights to her music.
She released her debut mini-album, Durt, with features from the likes of SG Lewis, Wretch 32 and Stormzy. She followed it up with the release of the single “Hood”, which is about her hometown, Catford.
She released her single “Action” with rapper Chip, in November 2019 and also released the single “MIA” alongside American singer Kaash Paige in July 2021.

She released her debut album, Access Denied, through Island records in September 2021. The album features the likes of Kojey Radical, Giggs and so on.
She has also worked with the likes of Stefflon Don, Maleekberry, Wyclef Jean, Naughty Boy, Kid Ink and so on.
